Beijing, May 25, 2023 - A delegation of five members from the US Embassy in China visited the historic Matteo Ricci and Foreign Missionaries’ Cemetery, nestled within the campus of Beijing Administration Institute.

Chen Cong, the Director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Department at Beijing Administration Institute, welcomed the delegation and provided an overview of the institute’s commendable efforts in cadres training, academic exchanges, and international cooperation. Serving as the tour guide, Associate Professor Zhang Haiping shed light on the remarkable achievements of influential figures such as Matteo Ricci, Johann Adam Schall von Bell, and Ferdinand Verbiest, and introduced the cemetery’s rich history, the preservation of cultural heritage, and the invaluable exchange and mutual learning between Chinese and Western civilizations.

The visit served as the shared appreciation for the historical significance of Matteo Ricci and the foreign missionaries buried at the cemetery.
