Prof. Rodriguez of Iberoamerican University Mexicolectures in BAI

On September 29th, an academic seminar was successfully held in BAI. Prof. Abelardo Rodriguez from Iberoamerican University in Mexico was invited to give a lecture on "Opportunities and Challenges in the Western Hemisphere and World Politics." Fifteen teachers and students of BAI attended theseminar, including faculty members from Department of International Exchange and World Politics Research, Department of International Cooperation and Exchange, Research Management Division and graduate students with interest.

Prof. Rodriguez's lecture was insightful, focusing on the history of Mexico and its relations with North and Latin America. He briefly reviewed important historical events such as the Monroe Doctrine in the 19th century and the Mexican Independence. He also provided a brilliant explanation of the U.S.-Mexico relations under the multi-polar trend during the Cold War and post-Cold War period, as well as the political situation in Latin American countries. Prof. Rodriguez also discussed the current world political situation and exchanged ideas with our faculty members on topics such as the Mexican election, U.S.-Mexico relations, and China-Mexico cooperation.
