BAI sends a professional academic delegation to visit Belarus and Russia
At the invitation of Gomel State University in Belarus and Vladimir Branch of RENEPA, from July 14 to 21, 2024, Chen Cong, Director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Department, and two others visited Belarus and Russia. Associate Professors Gu Weiwei and Chen Xinyu, Deputy Director of the Philosophy and Culture Department, participated in this visit and achieved a series of positive results.
During their stay in Belarus, the delegation visited Gomel State University. The university was founded in 1930 and is a key university in Belarus. Its teaching and research level ranks among the top in Belarusian universities. Sergei Khakhomov, Rector of Gomel State University, along with Alexander Pavlovich, Director of the International Exchange department, and a delegation of five people warmly received the visiting delegation. Both parties had in-depth discussions on their cooperation intentions based on the characteristics of their respective universities, and reached a friendly cooperation intention.
After concluding its academic visit to Belarus, the delegation was invited to Russia to participate in the second international conference "Dialogue" hosted by the Vladimir branch of RENEPA. The meeting brought together experts and scholars from 12 countries, including Russia, China, India, Vietnam, Türkiye, Sri Lanka, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, etc. They gathered together and conducted in-depth and fruitful discussions on the protection of world cultural heritage. During the conference, experts and scholars had extensive exchanges and discussions on topics such as the protection, inheritance, utilization, and challenges faced by cultural heritage.
It is worth mentioning that, at the invitation of the organizers, Gu Weiwei, on behalf of our institute, gave a detailed introduction on the main types of Chinese cultural heritage and the Chinese government's practices in protecting historical and cultural heritage. Gu Weiwei's speech aroused great interest among the attendees, and foreign scholars expressed that China's speech is a valuable example in the field of cultural heritage protection, and China's experience is worth learning from and emulating.
During this visit, the delegation not only provided detailed introductions of our open education and international exchange situation to multiple foreign universities, but also conducted in-depth discussions and exchanges on the important theme of cultural heritage protection through active participation in international academic conferences. This visit has further expanded Belarus' external cooperation and deepened cooperation with the Vladimir branch of RENEPA. The delegation members made speeches at international conferences, effectively enhancing our institution's international influence and show cultural confidence.
