Recently, the five memebered delegation from Institute of Far Eastern Studies of Russian Academy of Sciences (IFES) visited BAI headed by PhD Mikhail Titarenko, president of IFES and Russia China Friendship Association, and academician of Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS). Mr. Wang Jiangyu, executive vice-president of BAI, met with all the memebers and held working discussions with them. Ms. Li Yanqi, member of BAI committee and director of Editoral Department of BAI Journal, and Mr. Liang Jun, director of Department of International Cooperation & Exchange both attended the meeting.

        Mr. Wang briefly sumarized the cooperation and friendship ties between BAI and IFES in the recent ten years and specially introduced BAI’s recent developments in teaching, researching and management. Titarenko also introduced the new changes and recent development of IFES. Mr. Evald Antipenko, vice president of RAS responsible for finance and budget, introduced RAS’s financial reform and its difficulties. The Russian team said one of their main goals of this visit is to understand and study China’s situation of financial supportment in the training of civil servants and China’s experience on capital investment in the hi-tech development in the cities of Bohai Economic Rim.

        During the delegation’s stay in China, Ms. Li Yanqi accopanied the delegation to Tianjin, Qinhuangdao and Dalian, visiting the local hi-tech development zones and science parks. The delegation also participated in the Encyclopedia of Chinese Spiritual Culture book donation ceremony held in Chinese Academy of Social Sciences acconpanied by Mr. Liang Jun.

        The Russian delegation was quite satisfied with this visit and both sides believe this visit will promote the mutual trust and cooperation and contribute actively to Sino-Russian Strategic and Collaborative Partnership.
