Chinese President Xi Jinping, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, has delivered a speech at a meeting marking the 90th anniversary of the Central Party School. He called on the party schools from national and local levels to continue fostering talent. CGTN's Zhao Yunfei explains how the network works.

ZHAO YUNFEI Beijing "This is the major lecture hall of the Party School of the CPC Central Committee. This is the classroom that gathers CPC Party leaders around the country. It's also the place that General Secretary Xi Jinping has visited nearly 40 times."

The Central Party School has just celebrated its 90th anniversary. General Secretary Xi called on teachers and students to make new contributions. He says the party school should strengthen training of Marxist theory, and the Sinicization and modernization of Marxism.

Sitting in the audience are the students who're attending the 2023 spring semester. They are also party elites who are taking leadership roles in the central and local governments.

General Secretary Xi calls on the students to adhere to the banner of the party, the will of the party, and the mission of the party, and adhere to the direction of the country's development.

Almost everywhere on campus, you can see the expression of "Shi Shi Qiu Shi." It means "seeking truth from facts." The phrase has been enshrined as one of the basic norms set for CPC members. It's a rigorous approach of scholars who pay great attention to acquiring solid facts.

Cultivating leaders for the party is the unique mission of the party school. General Secretary Xi says the party school should promote reform, development and stability, and resolve any confusion.

It requires our party school teachers to step out of their small classrooms and step into the society. We should strengthen investigation and research, and effectively provide the party with high-quality decision-making plans."

At the school museum, I've just found this receipt. It says three thousand yuan. Xi Jinping made this personal donation to the Tibet Party School when he was the president of the Central Party School. He has long been caring for the development of party schools at local levels, especially in less developed areas.

Since the founding of the Central Party School, the CPC has been dedicated to building its party school system. The purpose of the education was to unify thought within the party.
