Ling Yu Attends IAMCR 2024 Annual Conference and Delivers Presentations

From June 30 to July 4, 2024, the International Association for Media and Communication Research (IAMCR) held its annual academic conference in Christchurch, New Zealand. Ling Yu, a faculty member from the Department of International Communication and World Political Parties at our university, participated in this conference. The theme of this year's conference was "Togetherness: Communication for Decolonization, Participation, and Listening," which aimed to promote the exchange and integration of diverse perspectives. The conference featured keynote speeches, 36 specialized paper sessions organized by various divisions, 11 pre-conference events, and 13 special sessions, with 1,300 participants from 63 countries.

Ling Yu had two papers accepted by the conference. On the afternoon of July 2, Ling Yu presented a paper titled "The Constructive Logic and Internal Influence of Chinese Governmental New Media Generation Operation" at the Journalism Research and Education section. On the morning of July 4, Ling Yu presented another paper titled "Resonance and Good Journalism: Research on News Acceleration from the Perspective of Rosa’s Critical View of Good Life" at the same section.

During the conference, Ling Yu shared research findings with global scholars in journalism and communication, engaging in discussions on various academic topics in the field. This participation showcased the vitality and spirit of our university's young scholars to the international academic community. This visit also served as a valuable practice in contributing to the high-quality development of teaching, research, and consultancy at our university.

IAMCR (the International Association for Media and Communication Research) is regarded as one of the four major international associations in the field of journalism and communication, alongside ICA (the International Communication Association), AEJMC (the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication), and NCA (the National Communication Association). Established in 1957 at the headquarters of UNESCO, IAMCR is dedicated to providing a global platform for scholars, professionals, and others involved in media and communication work. With nearly 3,000 scholar members from over 150 countries, IAMCR hosts a major international academic conference each year and is recognized as one of the most important academic organizations in media and communication research worldwide, aiming to support and develop global research in media and communication.
