2019-01-17

From Jan 15, 2018 to December 30, 2018, Dr. Yu Qian, from the Editorial Office of BAI visited Harvard Kennedy School. Her research topic focused on local government innovation, especially on the diffusion mechanism of local government innovations between China and the United States.

During her visit to Harvard, she took several courses, such as “Principles of Economics”、“Foundations of Comparative Politics”、“American Government: A New Perspective”. The International background of Harvard faculties and students has led to a rich, enthusiastic, in-depth and effective class discussion, which benefited her a lot.

Harvard University is an important institution to study Chinese issues overseas and brings together a large number of experts and well-known scholars at home and abroad. During her visit, she often attended lectures at Harvard Kennedy School, Harvard-Yenching Institute, Fairbank Center and Harvard Law School. The research field of the lectures involved was very broad and the perspective was very novel, which greatly expanded her horizons and enriched her knowledge.

Dr. Yu’s research has received great support and help from relevant professors and researchers at the ASH Center, Harvard Kennedy School. They provided her with a large number of case studies and field research opportunities for US local government innovation. She also participated in the 2018 American Political Science Conference.

Harvard University has always been a sanctuary in the hearts of many students and scholars. It not only carries people's desire for knowledge, but also entrusts the spiritual pursuit of generation after generation. With the opportunity to go abroad for further studies, Dr. Yu is very grateful to the wise vision of the school leaders and the support of relevant departments. The International Cooperation and Exchange Department of BAI is a very excellent and outstanding team, and they have made great contributions to the international communication of the faculty. She hopes that the international cooperation and exchange work of BAI will be better and better.
